Top theatre directors and tutors for Sligo academy

Megan and Jessica Kennedy, directors and founders of Junk Ensemble, will conduct a dance workshop on Saturday and Sunday, January 18th and 19th.
Sligo will host international theatre directors and tutors as part of the annual Blue Raincoat Theatre Academy in 2025.
Now in its 13th year, the Academy provides training for all with workshops in acting and directing, movement, dance theatre and vocal training. The tutors on this year’s programme include Megan and Jessica Kennedy, directors and founders of Junk Ensemble, who will conduct a dance workshop on Saturday and Sunday, January 18th and 19th, at the Factory Performance Space, Lower Quay Street in Sligo.
In March, Corinne Soum, co-director of Theatre de L’ange Fou and founder of The White Church Project based in Wisconsin, combine the experience of having been student and assistant of Etienne Decroux and having taught, developed and directed physical training for actors for more than 30 years. This workshop will take place from Wednesday to Saturday, March 12th to 15th.
Returning to the Academy this year are David Goldsworthy and Marianne Le Tron of the Roy Hart International Voice Centre based in France. Both are founder members of the IVC with over 35 years’ experience in vocal training. They will conduct weekend workshop for all actors and singers on Saturday and Sunday, June 14th and 15th.
Finally, also in June, leading international theatre director Anne Bogart will conduct a workshop on Acting and Directing in Theatre. This will be a four-day workshop from Wednesday to Saturday, June 18th to 21st.
