Three Ballina schools to collaborate in special trad session this week

Three primary schools in North Mayo will come together next week for a special traditional music session to celebrate the culmination of a two-year project.
Behy NS, Bonniconlon NS and Cooneal NS are thrilled to announce the event to mark the culmination of their very successful two-year Creative Clusters initiative.
Creative Clusters is a Department of Education project, under the Creative Youth Plan 2023-2027, that brought the three schools together to foster a love of traditional music among the young students while developing essential skills such as collaboration, critical thinking and innovation.
Over the past two years, pupils from all three schools have been actively engaging in music workshops, exploring different instruments and honing their performance skills with the shared belief that music is for everyone. This has driven the initiative ensuring that every child, regardless of experience, has had the opportunity to flourish as a musician.
The theme of the upcoming trad session is 'Dreams' and it will showcase the incredible progress made by the pupils of Behy, Bonnicolon and Cooneal national schools since they came together as a collective.
Families, friends and community members are invited to attend this unique and lively musical gathering that marks the completion of this inspiring project.
The special concert takes place this Friday, April 4, at 11.45am in the Great National Hotel in Ballina. It promises to be a wonderful celebration of youthful musical talent in the North Mayo area.
