Talented musical family for Gurteen show

The talented Collis family will perform at the Coleman Music Centre in Gurteen on November 22nd.

For one night only at the Coleman Music Centre in Gurteen, Co Sligo, members of the well-known Collis and Kearins family from Sligo will come together to perform and celebrate the Owenmore Céilí Band with a live concert on Saturday, November 22, at 8pm.

This promises to be a lively evening of traditional music and song with award-winning musicians.

Patricia, Deirdre and Fionnuala are the third generation of the Collis family of musicians, and together with their late father Tom Collis (concert flute player), were members of the reformed Owenmore Céilí Band. As established performers, Cian and Caoimhe Kearins are continuing the family tradition and have carved their own style of flute, fiddle and traditional singing. They will be joined on the night by Deirdre’s husband, Sylvie Golden, Mayo, singer/ fiddle player and Cian’s wife, Niamh O’Sullivan, Dublin, concertina.

It is quite unique for one family to have several All-Ireland champions on a variety of instruments including flute, fiddle, tin whistle, button accordion, concertina, bodhrán, singing and lilting.

An entertaining night of music and song is guaranteed. Early booking advisable at 071-9182599 or www.colemanirishmusic.com. Tickets are priced at €15.
