New display opened at popular Ballina attraction
The Jackie Clarke Collection.
The Jackie Clarke Collection has opened its “Sleeping Winter Garden,” a seasonal display created in collaboration with the Ballina Costume Company, Mayo Arts Squad and art students from Moyne College. As the centrepiece of the garden bandstand, a 9-foot “Knitmas Tree,” crafted from recycled wool by local Ballina crafters, welcomes visitors.
Each day, a sensory-friendly hour runs from 4 pm to 5 pm (with an earlier slot of 2:30–3:30 pm on Saturdays) to support visitors with additional needs. The Collection’s Seomra room has also been redesigned as a calm, sensory-aware space featuring artwork by Western Care Association, with the space due to be officially launched on 5th December 2025. The initiative is supported by Ballina Autism Friendly Town, reflecting the Collection’s commitment to community and inclusion.
The Jackie Clarke Collection is located at Pearse Street, Ballina, Co. Mayo, Ireland. For general enquiries or to book specialist tours, contact them at 096 73508 or email clarkecollection@mayococo.ie. Their website is www.clarkecollection.ie. The Collection is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm, and admission is free.
