Theatre and music enthusiasts will relish The Linenhall’s array of imminent offerings. The Castlebar arts venue also celebrates this year’s Seachtain na Gaeilge le Energia, with a special sport centric event.

From a stage perspective, Eoin Ryan presents the jaw-dropping, one man bio drama Trawled, When Adventure Becomes Survival on Friday, March 8. Written and performed by Ryan, Trawled brings the full epic portrayal of his backpacking adventure, working on a prawn trawler on Australian waters to life. An enthralling true story of resilience, this is classic storytelling, where the stakes could not be any higher.

What began as an adventure, ultimately degenerates into a struggle to stay alive. The rising action leads to a climax that will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout. Told in raw, uncompromising language, this is a riveting tale of adventure, crisis and brutality, culminating in an unforgettable moment of redemptive grace.

Stolen Child, the latest production by Kiltimagh’s impressive Clann Machua Drama Group graces the Linenhall stage on Thursday, March 14. Written by Bairbre Ní Chaoimh and Yvonne Quinn, set in 1990 it tells the story of a young Dublin woman's efforts to find her birth mother, following the death of her adopted mother.

What starts out as a personal odyssey, takes us on a fascinating journey into one of the most shameful and dark corners of Irish history, the results of which still continue to haunt. Stolen Child is directed by Seamus Corry and stars Rebecca Farrington, Ethan Jordan and Finola Mellett.
