Trolley watch: 457 patients waiting for hospital beds across Ireland

There were 457 admitted patients waiting for beds on Tuesday, according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation's (INMO) trolley watch figures.

Of the 457 patients, 280 are waiting in the emergency department, while 177 are in wards elsewhere in the hospital.

In Dublin, St Vincent’s University Hospital has the highest number, with 32 waiting in the emergency department, while Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown has the lowest, with two waiting in the emergency department.

In the rest of the country, the highest was University Hospital Limerick with 94 patients total waiting for a bed, and the lowest was Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Ennis with one patient.
