Mayo native makes League of Ireland debut

A highly-rated young star in soccer made his senior debut in the League of Ireland Premier Division last night (Friday).
Ballina native Reuben Gillespie came off the bench in the 67th minute for Sligo Rovers in their away fixture against Waterford, which ended in a 2-0 defeat.
A former student of St Muredach's College, Reuben began his soccer career with Ballina Town FC, where his noticebale talent saw him selected for the Mayo Schoolboys underage teams before he joined the Sligo Rovers underage setup.
