Mayo FC let two-goal lead slip in damaging defeat to TU Dublin

Mayo FC blew a two-goal lead at the break as TU Dublin came from behind to defeat the home side 3-2 and inflict back-to-back defeats on the green and red in the FAI National League.
The home side enjoyed a bright start and took the lead on 26 minutes when Darragh Forde's cross picked out Connor McCarthy and guided his header into the bottom corner.
On the stroke of half-time, it got better when James McGrath curled in a wonderful free-kick into the roof of the net to double their advantage.
Mayo, however, got the second half off to the worse possible start when the lively Leo Crabb pulled a goal back two minutes after the restart.
Disaster struck for Mayo on 72 minutes when miscommunication between Daire O'Connor and Matthew Fox saw Alex Fallon pounce to equalise, and the misery was compounded a minute before the end of normal time when Adam Muhill netted a rebound following a Matthew O'Brien shot.
A painful defeat for Mayo and they will need to respond with they travel to Galway to take on Salthill Devon next Saturday.
