Mayo club announces departure of manager

Ballina Town have confirmed that first team head coach Michael Duffy is stepping down from his role with immediate effect.

Michael, who has been in charge of the Super League club for the past two years, has cited increased work commitments as the reason for his departure.

Under his management, along with assistants Declan O'Connor and Momme Reibisch, Ballina Town have reached this year's Mayo Super Cup final and sit fourth in the Super League table. The team finished fourth in last year's Super League race.

With Michael's departure, Declan O'Connor and Momme Reibisch will take charge of first team affairs for the remainder of the season, with two league games and the cup final yet to be played.

"Ballina Town FC would like to place on record its grateful appreciated to Michael for his dedication and commitment as manager for the past two years and wish him all the very best in his future football endeavours," the club stated.
