The youth division of Western Lakes Cycling Club has received a considerable boost with confirmation of sponsorship from The Lodge at Ashford Castle. To mark the partnership, new cycling jerseys bearing The Lodge at Ashford Castle’s logo were presented to the young riders ahead of a training session in the scenic Cong Woods. The presentation took place at the magnificent venue, where representatives from both the hotel and the club gathered to celebrate the occasion.
“We are delighted to support Western Lakes Cycling Club and its talented young riders,” said Peter Fergus, General Manager of The Lodge at Ashford Castle. “Cycling is an integral part of our local community, and we are proud to contribute to the growth and development of these promising young athletes.”
Western Lakes Cycling Club has been a cornerstone of cycling in the region, fostering a passion for the sport among youth and adult riders alike. With this sponsorship, the club aims to further develop its youth programme, providing young cyclists with enhanced training opportunities and a greater sense of team identity especially while competing all over the country.
“The support from The Lodge at Ashford Castle is a fantastic boost for our young riders,” said a spokesperson for Western Lakes Cycling Club. “Having a strong local sponsor helps us grow the sport at the grassroots level and encourages more young people to get involved in cycling. The recognition that The Lodge at Ashford Castle has shown us has further enthused us to keep developing our youth programme and strive to progress and grow as a club catering for the Mayo/Galway region and further.”
The new jerseys, proudly worn by the youth members, symbolise a new chapter for the team as they continue to train and compete across the region.
