Hundreds of cyclists to swarm to South Mayo for epic gravel adventure

Ballinrobe will come alive this Sunday morning as cyclists from every corner of Ireland descend on the town for a one-of-a-kind gravel cycling challenge. 

From rugged bog roads to winding boreens, this thrilling event will push riders to test their skill and stamina against the wild beauty of the west.

This is no ordinary spin. The course features a spectacular loop around Lough Carra and the Partry Mountains, blending breathtaking scenery with a true taste of adventure. Cyclists will tackle an exciting variety of gravel terrains while soaking up views that stretch from shimmering lake shores to ancient pilgrim paths.

Route highlights include the Bowers Walk, Srah, Killawalla, Clogher, and Moorehall loop walks, with a return to Ballinrobe via the Lost Treasure Trail. 

Each section offers its own distinctive character and history, following tracks once travelled long before modern roads existed – and now reborn as a playground for Ireland’s boldest off-road riders, with some high profile riders attending, it's also a great opportunity to get pictures and mingle with Ireland's best cycling talent.

The action begins at 9:45am sharp outside Marrey Bikes, Ballinrobe, with the first riders expected to roll back into town at Johnno’s Bar from 1pm onwards, where a warm welcome and lively atmosphere await.

This spectacular event is proudly brought to Ballinrobe by Raceface Events, with the generous support of Marrey Bikes, Johnno’s Bar, Costello Mac Dermott, and Supermac’s.

Whether you’re in the saddle, on the sidelines, or simply soaking up the atmosphere, this Sunday in Ballinrobe promises to be an unforgettable celebration of cycling, community, and adventure.

Ballinrobe area from 9.45 to 10.15am 

Partry area from 10.10 to 11am 

Killawalla area 10.20 to 11.30am 

Ballintubber stores 11.40am to 1.30pm Clogher area 11.45 to 2pm 

Moorehall house 12.15 to 2.30pm 

Brownstown area 12.40 to 3pm
