Kiltimagh were comprehensively beaten in the All-Ireland Club JFC semi-final by Ulster champions Clogher Éire Óg this afternoon in Pairc Sean MacDiarmaida.
The sides were locked at 0-2 apiece at the end of the first quarter before Ryan McCaughey and Rory McElroy stretched Clogher’s lead to two.
That lead remained that way until the 21st minute when Ciaran Bogue made up for his missed goal chance from earlier when he held off Mattie Cummins and drove his shot low into the bottom corner.
The Tyrone side finished the half strong with two of the next three points through Bogue and Vincent Lowry to lead 1-7 to 0-4 at half-time.
Clogher stretched their lead to seven early in the second half before Paul Kelly’s huge two-pointer gave Kiltimagh hope on 41 minutes. His game would be cut short minutes later after he sustained a head injury when blocking a Bogue point, and any faint hopes for Kiltimagh were ended when Ryan McCaughey played in Ciaran Bogue for his second goal of the afternoon shortly after.
Clogher will meet either Ballymacelligott or Grangenolvin in the decider next Sunday.
