Last Saturday (June 29), a team from Australia travelled to Bekan's Centre of Excellence to participate in the John West GAA Féile Peile na nÓg.

The 20-player squad, aged 11 to 14, were from Perth, Victoria and South Australia.

The boys touched down in the Emerald Isle a week before competing at the Féile. They took in the Tailteann Cup semi-finals in Croke Park and met GAA president Jarlath Burns and Dublin senior footballer Cormac Costello during their stay in Dublin.

During Saturday's Féile games, the Australasia team that travelled over 15,000km to Mayo, went up against Newtownbutler First Fermanagh, Gaultier (Waterford) and Warwickshire.

It was said that the trip created treasured memories that may lead to life-long friendships with mates old and new in the 'Land Down Under'.
