Star men could make difference for Shrule/Glencorrib or Ardagh

For Shrule/Glencorrib, the scoring heorics of Evan Cawley must continue

Shrule/Glencorrib v Ardagh

A difficult tie to call.
Since a narrow win over Tourmakeady, Shrule/Glencorrib have looked impervious after big wins over Northern Gales (1-15 to 0-6) and Ballycastle (2-12 to 0-9). Ardagh, on the other hand, split their two group games with a narrow defeat suffered away to Cill Chomian, but a huge win against Achill that saw them through into the knockout rounds 2-13 to 0-13. Lee Traynor got 1-7 in that latter encounter, and he’ll need to rediscover every bit of that scoring touch to get by Shrule/Glencorrib while James Carr, Ardagh’s star man, will need to be at his best influencing play all over the pitch.
For Shrule/Glencorrib, the scoring heorics of Evan Cawley, who had six points against Ballycastle, must continue as he has been in sensational form.
Essentially, it will be a battle of the two teams star men to overcome whatever scheme the teams have in store to keep them quiet. Again though, it is hard to look past the current form the clubs and Shrule/Glencorrib win out in that regard.
For that reason expect them to win out when the two teams take to the field with a semi-final spot on the line. It won’t be easy, but Shrule/Glencorrib will progress.
VERDICT: SWINFORD
