Tony McEntee is set to continue as Sligo’s senior football team manager for the next two years.
The Yeats County have made significant progress under the Armagh man. After consolidating their spot in Division 3 of the National Football League, they nearly caused a major upset against Galway in the Connacht SFC semi-final, but a late goal by Robert Finnerty rescued the win for the eventual Connacht champions and All-Ireland finalists. Sligo’s championship was ended by Down in extra-time in the Tailteann Cup semi-final.
Under McEntee, Sligo won the 2023 Division 4 National Football League and also reached the Tailteann Cup semi-finals in 2022 as well as this year.
Elsewhere, Stephen Sheil was confirmed to continue as Sligo hurling team manager for the 2025 season, his second with the county. Barry Keenan was also confirmed to continue as the U20 hurling team manager for 2025. It will be Barry’s third year in the role.
Paul Henry will be serving a third year as the U20 Football team manager in 2025. This is a one-year extension to his original two-year term which has just been completed. The extension was agreed and ratified last year.
Sligo GAA said that all four managers intend to make changes to their management teams before preparations for next season begin.
