Roscommon have been dealt a blow ahead of Sunday's Connacht SFC semi-final against Mayo after Daire Cregg's red card against New York was upheld on Monday evening, the Roscommon Herald has reported.

The Boyle forward appealed his sending-off to the GAA's Central Hearings Committee, but was unsuccessful.

He has been handed a one-game ban and, as it stands, will miss the provincial last four showdown against Mayo in Castlebar on Sunday.
