Rory Brickenden with temporary Mayo manager Stephen Rochford who has decided to recall the Westport defender for Saturday's clash with Tyrone.

Rory Brickenden returns to the Mayo team in what is the only change to the starting 15 from the side’s defeat at home to Cavan in the opening round of the All-Ireland SFC.

Mayo will travel to play Tyrone on Saturday evening with Stephen Rochford in temporary charge, after the decision of manager Kevin McStay to stand aside this week on health grounds.

Brickenden, who started the Connacht SFC final, is preferred to Sam Callinan who takes his place on the bench. It’s a substitutes list that also sees the inclusions of defenders Eoin O’Donoghue and Sean Morahan, who return to the match-day 26 in place of attackers Conor Reid and Kevin Quinn.

Tyrone, who had an away win against Donegal in their opening round match last Saturday, won the most recent championship encounter between the teams – the 2021 All-Ireland SFC final. Prior to that, Mayo had won four of the five previous championship matches between the counties, stretching back to 1989.

The game in O'Neill’s Healy Park, Omagh will throw-in at 7pm.
