Referee to report post-match incident at MacHale Park

An investigation is expected to take place after a spectator appeared to confront the match referee after Sunday’s Allianz Football League game between Mayo and Galway.
Mayo were beaten 0-26 to 0-16 at Hastings Insurance MacHale Park in a game that was televised live by TG4.
The game was refereed by Noel Mooney and footage of the immediate aftermath of the game, where spectators are seen flooding onto the pitch, shows an individual run towards and appear to shove the Cavan official with whom they remonstrate briefly.

has learnt that it’s Mayo County Board’s understanding the incident will be included in Noel Mooney’s referee’s report.It was Mayo’s second defeat in as many games. Their next outing will be on Sunday, February 16 when they entertain Tyrone.
