Poc Fada selection for Douglas

GAA: Mayo senior hurling goalkeeper Bobby Douglas will represent his county at the All-Ireland Poc Fada Finals later this summer after coming second in the provincial finals The Connacht Poc Fada finals were held at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence on Monday evening last, June 17, with representation from across the province competing for the title of the Connacht champion and qualification for the All-Ireland Poc Fada Finals which will take place in Co Louth’s Cooley Mountains on Bank Holiday Monday, August 1.
Douglas, who plays club hurling with Tooreen, finished second to Noel Fallon of the Four Roads club in Roscommon. In the U16 competition, there was success again for Roscommon, with Colm Fitzgerald beating Danny Klampe of Loughrea, Co Galway.
In the camogie, it was a clean sweep for Galway as Susan Earner of Eyrecourt, beat Katie Gilchrist of Shamrocks. The U16 winner was Leah Horan of Killimor while Mia White of St Dominic’s GAA Club in Roscommon was second.
