Mayo manager Andy Moran has made one change to his starting team ahead of Sunday’s Division 1 league clash against Armagh in Hastings Insurance MacHale Park.

Moy Davitts’ Cian McHale comes in at top of the right in place of Claremorris’ Darragh Beirne in what is curiously Mayo’s first league game against Armagh in Castlebar since 2011.

Beirne, who is still under-20, started each of Mayo’s first four league games, scoring 2-9 in an impressive start to his Mayo senior career. McHale was a driving force for University of Limerick in their maiden Sigerson Cup triumph this year and has made two substitute appearances in Mayo’s first two league games, incidentally coming on for Beirne in each game. He scored a crucial goal in Mayo’s opening round win over Galway.

There are two changes in the Mayo substitutes with Diarmuid O’Connor and James Carr, who both started against Donegal but were not togged last time around in Clones, named on the bench in place of Cian McHale and Diarmuid Duffy.

Kobe McDonald, who scored 1-4 in a sensational debut off the bench in Clones, is again named on the bench.

There are seven Mayo players who have started each of Mayo’s first four games who are named to start against Kieran McGeeney’s side. They are: Rob Hennelly, Enda Hession, Sam Callinan, Bob Tuohy, Jack Carney, Ryan O’Donoghue and Jordan Flynn.

The game throws in at 1.15pm. Tickets can be purchased in selected Centra and Super Valu shops or online here. The referee is David Coldrick from Meath. Armagh sit on just two points heading into the game with Mayo on six.
