Castlebar Mitchels came out on the right side of a goalfest as they defeated Westport 4-7 to 3-4 to win the Mayo U21A final in Hastings Insurance MacHale Park earlier this afternoon.
Player of the match Mark Cunningham got the opening major for Mitchels but that was met with an instant response from Westport's Fionn O'Hora.
However, further green flags by Calum Filan and Cian Walsh saw Mitchels open up a 3-1 to 1-3 lead at half-time.
Westport went ahead inside three minutes of the second half through goals by Cian Mulchrone and Dara Hogan but Mitchels would outscore Westport 1-6 to 0-1 over the remainder of the second half to claim another U21 title.
The fourth goal for Mitchels was netted by substitute Joe Forry late on.
