Mayo vs Galway: Update following storm damage to MacHale Park

A general view of Elverys MacHale Park.
It has been confirmed that this weekend’s Round 2 Allianz National Football League match between Mayo and Galway in Hastings Insurance MacHale Park will now throw in at an earlier time of 2.30pm on Sunday – due to damage caused by Storm Eowyn.
Mayo GAA had requested the game be rescheduled from the original throw-in time of 3.45pm due to damage caused to the floodlights at their home stadium.
A number of floodlights at the Castlebar ground have been seriously damaged in the storm.
A section of the roof of the stand was also damaged but that will be repaired ahead of Sunday’s match.
Mayo will be hoping for a return to winning ways after defeat to Dublin in Croke Park at the weekend.
