Mayo 0-15

Roscommon 0-9

Mayo enjoyed a six-point victory over Connacht rivals Roscommon at home in the National Football League this evening.

Mayo led by a point after an evenly-matched first half. Ryan O’Donoghue had three points to his name while Diarmuid Murtagh was best for Roscommon, hitting three points, half his side’s tally, from play.

There was a nervy moment for Mayo in the latter stages of the half when Enda Smith almost lobbed Colm Reape from distance but the Knockmore man got back to make a dramatic save.

Mayo started the second half strongly and took the game’s next seven points unanswered. It was a hapless effort by Roscommon in the second half and they mustered only three points in this period of the game.

Next up for Mayo is a clash against Division One table-toppers Derry on St Patrick's Day at MacHale Park.
