The Mayo Senior footballers are taking to the skies for their Connacht Championship clash with New York.
A photo posted on Mayo GAA’s social media shows many of the 36-man panel and backroom team in Shannon Airport before their departure to the Big Apple, where they will face New York in the opening round of the provincial championship.
Appetities for the encounter have whetted by New York's history making exploits against Leitrim last year when they won a match in the Conncht SFC for the very first time.
The CEO of Connacht GAA has said tickets will be available on day before the 1pm throw-in at Gaelic Park on Sunday.
New York GAA announced on Instagram on Easter Sunday that all tickets for the Connacht GAA championship quarter-final clash "have been sold out due to high demand."
The organisation added: "Regrettably, no further tickets are available at this time.”
