Mayo return to Camogie League

Mayo Camogie County Board have confirmed they will field a senior adult team in the forthcoming National Camogie League.

The team will play in Division 3B. The Board have appointed Peter Dooley and Des Joyce as joint managers. Both have been involved with hurling and camogie in the county for over 20 years. They will be assisted by Noel Burke and Jenny Houlihan.

Team management have assembled a 30 player squad who have been training since the beginning of January.

Mayo play their first game away to Louth on Saturday, February 21.

“We are delighted to have our county team back competing in national competitions again,” said Des Joyce. “The response from the girls in the squad has been really positive. They are delighted to be back, are training really hard and looking forward to the campaign ahead.”
