The players and management of the Mayo senior football team are set to meet face to face next weekend.
There has been some uncertainty surrounding the plans for the team going forward in light of a review into the 2024 season that is currently being conducted by Mayo County Board.
Some of the feedback submitted by players via questionnaires to the review process is believed to have expressed dissatisfaction at aspects of the management’s approach last year, which saw Mayo lose the Connacht SFC final by one point to eventual All-Ireland finalists Galway before crashing out of the championship on penalties to Derry.
And while the review process remains ongoing, the
understands that Mayo boss Kevin McStay has invited the panel to a lunch followed by talks from team management next Saturday. It’ll be the first time that the players and management have assembled since their championship exit on June 22.
It’s expected Mayo GAA officials will meet again with Kevin McStay subsequent to that meeting.
