Mayo man nets late goal as TU Dublin stun University of Galway

Cian Hanley was the hero as TU Dublin stunned University of Galway in their Sigerson Cup Round 1 clash in Dangan last night.

The Ballaghaderreen man came off the bench to net the winning goal as TU Dublin won 2-8 to 1-10.

2022 winners University of Galway were without Galway captain Seán Kelly but found themselves leading by four points in the second half as Belmullet's Ryan O'Donoghue found the net. However, goals from Killian McGinnis and Hanley helped the visitors snatch victory. 

Balla's Conor Dunleavy also lined out at right corner-back for University of Galway.

Elsewhere in the Sigerson Cup, Queen's University defeated DCU Dóchas Éireann 1-10 to 2-6, while Maynooth University beat MTU Cork 4-11 to 2-9.

Mayo Gaels' Ruairí Keane played right half-back for DCU.
