Mayo LGFA senior manager Liam McHale has made a key addition to his management team ahead of the 2025 season.

Former Mayo senior hurling manager Derek Walsh has been added a coach/selector to the backroom team. Walsh led the Mayo hurlers to the Nicky Rackard Cup in 2021 as well as a Christy Ring Cup final in 2022. He also recently was in charge of the Ballyhaunis men's senior football team.

Walsh was also part of the Mayo ladies backroom team when they reached the 2017 All-Ireland final.

Henry Gavin has also been added as a coach/advisor. Gavin enjoyed a stellar career with Castlebar Mitchels and Mayo, and captained Mayo to a Connacht title in 1985.

The Green and Red will look to improve on their first year under McHale. They secured a place in Division 1 for 2025 but lost the Connacht final to Galway before exiting the All-Ireland at the quarter-final stage to Armagh.
