Mayo GAA thanks Kobe as he heads Down Under

Mayo GAA has thanked star forward Kobe McDonald as the Crossmolina ace embarks on his Australian adventure.
In his debut season, the teenage sensation helped deliver Sam Maguire for Mayo for the first time since 1951.
“Everybody involved with Mayo GAA would like to thank Kobe McDonald all the best on his next adventure in Australia. It has been some few months. Thanks Kobe,” said Mayo GAA in a post on social media.
Joined by his parents, McDonald is set to jet off tomorrow (Thursday) to Oz and link up with AFL outfit St Kilda. The Mayo man has signed a three-contract with the side and hopes to hit the ground running with the Melbourne team. His new club will be hoping Kobe can end their own drought with 1966 the last time the Saints won an AFL title.
According to AFL.com, McDonald will join up with the team on Friday before he will be in attendance for St Kilda’s home game against Carlton in the 56,000-seater Marvel Stadium.
