Mayo GAA Championship round-up: Shock results around the grounds

Here are the results from today's games in the Mayo Club Championship.

Senior Group 3

Ballaghaderreen 1-10 Knockmore 1-9

The shock of the opening weekend saw Ballagh' secure a famous win over the 2020 and 2021 champions, with Kuba Callaghan scoring eight points including the injury-time winner.

Claremorris 0-21 Belmullet 2-13 

A wonder goal from Evan Ivers was not enough to stop a youthful Claremorris from beating the 2021 finalists, Darragh Beirne having a senior debut to remember

Intermediate Group 1

Moy Davitts 3-8 Louisburgh 1-10

Moy Davitts underlined their championship credentials as goals from Sean Kelly, Cathal Clarke and Cian McHale powered them to victory.

Group 2

Castlebar Mitchels 'B' 1-8 Davitts 1-12

Dylan Gallagher starred for the visitors, scoring 1-4 for Liam Nyland's side.

Hollymount-Carramore 2-10 Kiltimagh

2-9

A late point by Jack Keane secured the win for Hollymount-Carramore at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence to break Kiltimagh hearts.

Group 3

Kilmaine 1-18 Kiltane 1-12

Brendan Sheridan, Hugh O'Loughlin, Jarlath Mullin and Adam Barrett inspired the South Mayo to victory over a dogged Kiltane.

Group 4

Burrishoole 1-14 Islandeady 2-10

A frantic West Mayo derby went the way of Burrishoole, Adam Rehill impressed in the second half while Fintan McManamon scored 1-3.

Ardnaree 1-12 The Neale 0-12

Ardnaree brought their league form into championship with an impressive win over The Neale, despite playing the majority of the game with 14 men 

Junior Group 1

Bonniconlon 1-13 Kilmovee Shamrocks 0-7

Despite their first half wastefulness, Bonniconlon had more than enough to beat Kilmovee, Brian O'Malley kicking 0-6 for the home side.

Group 2

Shrule/Glencorrib 0-9 Tourmakeady 1-7

Padraig Lydon was the hero for Tourmak', scoring 1-3 in a major upset.

Group 3

Killala 2-10 Achill 1-9

A top-class display of shooting from Matthew Keane and Ben Stowe was complimented by two-second half goals to give Killala a comfortable victory.
