Mayo footballer to wed today

Fergal Boland and Roberta Harrington, pictured at Croke Park after Mayo's All-Ireland triumph, will get married today.

Mayo GAA dual star Fergal Boland and his fiancé Roberta Harrington will tie the knot today.

Boland, who was part of the All-Ireland winning Mayo senior football panel, and Roberta have been wished every good wish by Aghamore GAA Club and Tooreen Hurling Club.

“All in Aghamore would like to wish, All Ireland Champion Fergal Boland and his bride to be Roberta Harrington the very best of luck on their wedding day tomorrow,” said Aghamore GAA Club on their Facebook page.

“Wishing Fergal Boland and his bride-to-be Roberta Harrington all the very best on their wedding day tomorrow and for their future together, from all at Tooreen Hurling Club. Enjoy the celebrations,” stated Tooreen.

Boland has starred for both Mayo and Tooreen in the small ball and he is the holder of two All-Ireland winners’ medals in football, part of the Mayo Under 21 All-Ireland winning side of 2016 as well as this year’s senior medal.

Boland played for Mayo on seven occasions this season, scoring 13 points. He has made a total of 71 league and championship appearances for Mayo, scoring 0-77.
