Two Mayo men have been selected on the first GAA.ie Team of the Week following the Green and Red's win over arch-rivals Galway at Pearse Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Kevin McStay's side delivered a statement beating the Tribesmen 2-12 to 0-10 and getting 2024 Allianz Football League Division 1 campaign off to a great start.

Mayo captain Paddy Durcan was picked at right half-back after putting in an all-action performance. The Castlebar Mitchels man kicked a fantastic point in the second-half.

Mayo supporters will be scratching their heads as to why Fergal Boland was dropped the panel in the 2023 season, as the Aghamore ace was outstanding yesterday. The dual star kicked 0-3 from play, his third being the pick of the bunch. He was selected at left half-forward.
