Mayo club confirms appointment of All-Ireland winning coach

Swinford GAA have announced the appointment of John Reilly as the club’s new head coach and Strength & Conditioning coach for 2025.
Reilly recently ended a memorable, seven-year stint with west Mayo outfit Kilmeena during which the Clew Bay side won an All-Ireland Junior Club title. A Mayo Intermediate title followed in 2023 and it saw Kilmeena play Senior for the first time in over a century this year.
Reilly stepped down at the end of the campaign and speculation was rife about where he would go next following a slew of high-profile resignations around the county.
Swinford is his next destination and he will be joining current manager Brian Gallagher and selector Eamon Molloy on the management team. The management team will be recruiting more selectors in due course.
Club chairman Alan Heaney said the appointment was huge for Swinford.
“John comes with great experience having won county, provincial and an all Ireland club title with Kilmeena - we wish our management team and Swinford GAA the best of luck in 2025.”
