The fates of the remaining groups in the Mayo Club Championship for senior and intermediate were decided earlier this afternoon and there was no shortage of goals, talking points and drama.

In Senior, Crossmolina racked up another big score in a blistering display as they defeated Ballyhaunis 5-17 to 1-14 to top Group 1, with four of their goals coming in the opening ten minutes. Joining them in the quarter-finals is Ballina Stephenites, who despite not scoring after the 37th minute, it was still enough for them to defeat Garrymore 0-16 to 0-13.

In Group 4, Westport came through a dogged battle to defeat Balla 0-15 to 0-11. Knockmore, however, topped the group on score difference after they enjoyed a 13-point win over Mayo Gaels 3-19 to 1-12.

In Intermediate, Ardnaree Sarsfields secured a home quarter-final after a 1-17 to 1-10 win over Castlebar Mitchels B and top Group 1. That defeat for Mithcels meant Ballinrobe only had to draw to go through and they did just that against Lahardane, 1-9 to 0-12, with Lahardane going into the relegation playoffs on head-to-head with Mitchels.

In Group 2, Kilmeena made it three wins from three after defeating Cill Chomáin 1-21 to 1-12. Cill Chomáin still advance as Burrishoole failed to defeat The Neale. Tom Lydon kicked 1-6 as The Neale secured their place in the intermediate for next season thanks to a 1-16 to 0-12 win, with Burrishoole now facing the relegation playoffs.

The outcome of Group 3 was in the melting pot until the dying seconds. Davitts thought they were through after defeating Kiltane, who were already guaranteed to top the group, 0-21 to 1-17, but Parke Keelogues Crimlin got a late score to earn a draw against Islandeady, 1-12 apiece, and go through on head-to-head with Davitts. Islandeady, meanwhile, head for the relegation playoffs.

In Junior, Bonniconlon and Ardagh were both victorious against Killala and Ballycroy respectively to guarantee their place in the quarter-finals ahead of their final group game against each other in two weeks time. Killala will finish bottom of Group 1 and are heading for Junior B while Ballycroy will face Ballycastle in a fortnight in a straight shootout to see who advances to the Junior A quarter-finals.
