LIVE BLOG

5.46pm

Galway are Connacht champions!

Liam Ó Conghaile gives Galway the insurance point. The hooter goes while Mayo have the ball and have a long wait to work a two-point score to take it to extra-time. It falls to Matthew Ruane from a difficult angle but it goes wide and it's a fourth Nestor Cup in a row for the Tribesmen.

Disappointment for Mayo, who certainly had the chances to win but not to no avail. Mayo will now go into an all-Ulster group for the All-Ireland series with Tyrone, Cavan and the winner of Donegal v Armagh in the Ulster final.

Thanks for joining us. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

5.38pm

Subs for both teams.

Mayo: Fenton Kelly for Darren McHale

Galway: Liam Ó Conghaile for Matthew Thompson

Mayo trail by one with three minutes left. Enda Hession barrels down on goal but Connor Gleeson equal to it. Reape converts the 45'.

Mayo 1-15 Galway 1-16

5.29pm

Colm Reape's horror kickout lands Rory Brickenden in bother. Brickenden pulls down Finnerty as he is in on goal and is shown a black card. Finnerty converts the free to put Galway back in front.

Less than ten minutes to go and Brickenden's game looks over.

Mayo 1-14 Galway 1-15

Mayo substitution: Fergal Boland for Davitt Neary

Aidan O'Shea is fouled and the referee brings up the free for dissent. Colm Reape takes it from outside the 40-metre arc but tails wide. Two minutes to half-time.

4.33pm

The Mayo goalkeeper comes to the rescue, denying Matthew Thompson. 30 minutes gone. Mayo have not scored for 25 minutes.

4.32pm

PENALTY FOR GALWAY!

Colm Reape pulls off a great double save but referee Paddy Neilan awards a penalty for a pull back by Matthew Ruane. Looked harsh.

Mayo need a score. Badly.
