The pick of the intermediate quarter-finals see Bohola Moy Davitts and Hollymount-Carramore collide in what looks sure to be a high-scoring affair.

Aside from a 100% record coming into this game, no other side at this level has looked more impressive than Moy Davitts. They overpowered Castlebar Mitchels ‘B’ in Round 1, beat Crossmolina in one of the games of the championship to date before holding off an Oisin Mullin-inspired Kilmaine in Round 3.

With class all over the pitch including Fiachra Cruise, Brian Heneghan, Cathal Clarke, former Mayo star Brian Reape, Cian McHale and former Mayo minor captain Ronan Clarke, they look as well-placed as anyone to win the Sweeney Cup this year.

Yet they will face their stiffest challenge to date in the shape of Holly-Carra, who booked their spot in the knockouts with convincing wins over Kiltane and Burrishoole. They may be coming into this contest on the back of defeat at the hands of Ballinrobe but they lost nothing in defeat after an excellent display.

Dylan Morris and Darren Coen have been in electric form so far this championship, scoring 2-24 between them, while at the back Stephen Coen marshals a tight defence.

It will come as no surprise should this game go the distance, but Jimmy Byrne’s side appear to have a bit more in reserve and that strength in depth will likely be the difference.

Verdict: Bohola Moy Davitts
