Healy double in extra-time wins Mayo junior title for Cill Chomáin

A pair of goals in extra-time by Justin Healy saw Cill Chomáin crowned Treanlaur Catering Mayo junior football champions for only the third time in their history, defeating Bonniconlon 2-10 to 0-10.

Justin, along with brother Jack, put Cill Chomain 0-3 to 0-0 ahead after ten minutes but would end up trailing 0-5 to 0-4 at half-time, witht he boys in blue coming back through Ciaran Gaughan (two), Niall Greavy, James Harrington and Sean Neary.

The sides would be level on no fewer than four occasions in the second half after a tight affair, with Joe Mason's equaliser on 53 minutes the final score of the half as extra-time beckoned.

Locked at 0-8 apiece, the turning point arrived four minutes into the first period when Justin Healy found the net with a low drive, followed up by a stunning point by Liam Maloney.

Bonniconlon could not find a goal in response and as Bonni' launched balls in, they were caught at the end of the second period of extra-time and Justin Healy's second goal ensured a return to the intermediate tier for the men from the Barony in 2025.
