COMMUNITY NOTES: BALLINA - WESTERN PEOPLE (JULY 2 EDITION)
A former Mayo GAA senior county football player, 84-year-old Ballina native Eddie Melvin, will launch his book ‘Memoir of a Ballina Man’ in Keane’s Pub, The Quay, this Friday, July 5 at 7pm.
Eddie was born at The Quay, Ballina on April 5, 1940, and was one of nine children raised by Paddy and Mary Melvin. He was recently honoured with a Hall of Fame Award by Ballina Stephenites.
