The Mayo minor ladies will be going into the Connacht final as strong favourites after a thumping win over Sligo yesterday (Wednesday) evening in Swinford.

Both Kayla Doherty and Christina MacEvilly helped themselves to two goals apiece as the Green and Red led 4-3 to 0-2 at half-time, and Doherty completed her hat trick from the penalty sport two minutes into the second half.

Brian McLoughlin's side will learn who their final opponents will be next Wednesday. Sligo, Roscommon and Galway can all still make the final, with the Black and White in pole position after winning two of their opening three games and can guarantee another shot against Mayo in the provincial decider on Saturday, May 18, should they avoid defeat to Roscommon.
