Double delight for Mayo club in rounders All-Ireland finals

The Mixed and Ladies teams of Breaffy Rounders

It was another memorable weekend for Breaffy Rounders as they brought home two All-Ireland titles.

The Mayo outfit proved too strong for two of the sport’s giants, defeating Erne Eagles in the Mixed decider and Glynn Barntown in the Ladies final. It was a powerful statement from a club that continues to set the standard across multiple grades.

At Abbotstown on Saturday, the senior ladies team were up first taking on Glynn Barntown (Wexford) and were aiming for their fourth title in-a-row.

It was a tough battle against the team from the sunny southeast but the Mayo side came out on top on a scoreline of 11-8.

The mixed team were up next and keen to keep the celebratory mood high in the Breaffy camp, gunning for their second All-Ireland on the spin.

They made it two-from-two for the club, beating Erne Eagles (Cavan) on a scoreline of 8-5.

A homecoming was held at the Breaffy clubhouse on Saturday evening as a local crowd gathered to celebrate their four-in-a-row and two-in-a-row champions.
