Mayo GAA have confirmed that they asked that their upcoming All-Ireland group game against Dublin not to be played in Croke Park.

County Board chairperson Seamus Tuohy told club delegates at yesterday's (Wednesday) County Board meeting that Mayo GAA have made a formal request for the game not to be played at the venue on the weekend of June 15/16.

All final round games in the group stages of the All-Ireland championships are to be played at neutral venues. Dublin have used Croke Park as their 'home' venue in previous championships and will do against this Saturday against Roscommon.

Rumored venues that are possible for the Mayo v Dublin clash include the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick, O'Connor Park in Tullamore and also Hyde Park, the latter where Mayo will play Roscommon on Saturday, June 1, at 5pm in the second round of group games. The game is set to be broadcast on GAAGO.

It is set to be a busy Bank Holiday weekend for Mayo fans, as the hurlers will face Donegal in the Nicky Rackard Cup Final in Croke Park on Sunday, June 2. Throw-in time is at 4.15pm and the game will be broadcast on TG4.
