It is set to be a big month for the Mayo LGFA inter-county teams, with a number of high-profile fixtures over the coming weeks.
It starts this Saturday, when the U14s play Kildare in the Platinum All-Ireland Quarter-Final. This is a must-win game for Tom Carney’s side if they are to reach the All-Ireland Semi-Final. Throw-in is at 2.45pm in Padraig Pearses GAA, Roscommon.
The U16’s are also in action later that afternoon, playing Galway in the Connacht Final at 4pm in the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence, Bekan. The side, managed once again by Francis Regan, won last year's encounter against the Tribeswomen after extra-time, progressing to the All-Ireland final where they lost out to Cavan.
On Sunday, the senior team play Galway in the final round robin games. Throw-in is at 1pm in Tuam Stadium. The two sides will meet again two weeks later in the Connacht final, with the game on Sunday, May 25, in Hastings Insurance MacHale Park.
Mayo will also be in the U18 (Minor) Final against Galway. Mayo were narrowly beaten by Sligo in their final round robin game but have still topped the group and will now play Galway in the decider on Saturday next (May 17) at 4pm in the Bekan. Roscommon play Sligo in the ‘B’ final at 2pm in Bekan, also on the same date.
