Mayo Ladies player Sinead Walsh has been nominated for an All-Star award.
The MacHale Rovers half-forward is the only Mayo player on the 45-player long list for this year’s All-Star awards, which is led by All-Ireland champions Dublin, who have 12 nominees on the list. Mayo's provincial rivals Galway have six players on the list.
Walsh was the star turn in what was a poor year competing in the All-Ireland Championship for the Ladies team. They very narrowly avoided relegation to the Intermediate grade. Walsh, who made her inter-county debut in 2022, was the standout player for Mayo in the relegation playoff final, scoring 1-5 to help the Green & Red secure safety against Leitrim.
