Former Ballina student secures American Football deal
Oisin Flynn has joined Mississippi State Bulldogs as a kicker/punter.
St Muredach’s College in Ballina has led the well-wishers as former student Oisín Flynn pursues an exciting opportunity in the billion-dollar world of American Football.
Flynn, a native of Castleconnor who won a Connacht U20 Football Championship with Sligo in 2022, is beginning an exciting new chapter by taking his considerable kicking talents across the Atlantic having joined the Mississippi State Bulldogs as a kicker/punter. Mississippi State University competes at the highest level of US college football, NCAA Division I, in the prestigious Southeastern Conference.
The former St Muredach’s student played both football and rugby for the Ballina secondary school and had already broken into the Sligo senior football team prior to his move to the USA.
Everyone at St Muredach’s and indeed at Castleconnor GAA Club will be following Oisín’s progress with great interest and pride.
