Ballyglass enjoyed a convincing win in Round 2 of the FAI Women's Amateur Shield, with a 9-1 result away to Colemanstown on Friday evening.
Ballyglass started brightly and were creating chances right from the start, but it took until the 20th minute before Isabel Delaney scored a superb free kick from well outside the box. That was quickly followed by a three-minute hat-trick from Ava Keane, the first coming after Emma Halton’s shot came back of the crossbar. Emma was on hand again to set up Ava just a minute later before Emma Walsh set up Ava to complete her quickfire hat-trick.
Ava turned provider on 40 minutes before Hannah Hughes finished brilliantly to the bottom corner. That was followed by an unfortunate own goal by the Colemanstown defender to see Ballyglass leading 6-0 at the break.
Ave got her fourth goal of the evening on the 65th minute before Emma Walsh got in on the act with another superb free kick from just outside the box.
Hannah Hughes rounded off the scoring on 79 minutes, again assisted by Ava, to round off a brilliant performance and win away from home.
