Public toilets promised for Dublin are still at 'concept stage'
Public toilets promised for Dublin City Centre last year are still at the 'concept stage'.
Last June, almost €6 million in funding was announced for four new facilities.
The move followed abandoned plans to close the temporary toilets at the top of Grafton Street.
Green Party Councillor for Clontarf, Donna Cooney, told Newstalk that everyone agrees the facilities are needed.
"We’re yet to actually see the reality of these toilets appear on the street, you know I suppose all councillors welcomed this announcement because we were told the toilets were going to be closed down on Stephen’s Green and we just didn’t accept that.
"We’re all of us are looking for toilets in our areas and it’s something that, actually, you’ll find across the full council," Cooney said.
