Over €16,000 raised in memorial walk
Mayo Roscommon Hospice CEO Martina Jennings with family members of the late John Barrett, Seaside and Glencastle with a cheque for €16,175.64, proceeds of the recent lawnmower walk in John’s memory.
Earlier this summer, the Barrett family in Belmullet undertook a very special walk in loving memory of their beloved husband and father, John Barrett.
It was a unique lawnmower walk as they walked the 15.7km from his birthplace in Glencastle to his final resting place in Termoncarragh.
Anyone who knew John will remember him out and about with his trusty lawnmower, keeping the local green areas neat and tidy in Seaside in Belmullet. What a fitting and wonderful way to honour his memory.
The family were joined by family, friends and neighbours along the route and rounded off the day with a raffle at Lavelle’s Eagle Bar in Belmullet. Together they raised an incredible €16,175.64 for the Mayo Roscommon Hospice.
Recently, John’s family all gathered to present the cheque to the CEO of Mayo Roscommon Hospice, Martina Jennings. Well done to all.
