The Other Abbey Players are back again with another Jimmy Keary play, Better Late Than Never

A comedy in three acts, it tells the story of Phyllis, a lonely, unmarried, middle aged woman dominated by her slightly older sister Marjorie, who delights in setting Phyllis up with totally unsuitable men and watching her being humiliated. When Phyllis meets someone of her own choosing, Marjorie tries to break up the romance by whatever means she can.

Throw in Marjorie's henpecked husband Albert, two mouthy waitresses, who work in The Cosy Corner Café, and a young guard trying to gain promotion and you have a recipe for a night of fun and laughter.

The cast comprises regulars Breege Morrin, Gemma Gannon, Lorraine Morrin and Martin Dunleavy with a return to the stage by PJ McCabe and Richard Hennelly and very welcome newcomers Trish Forde and Aodh Murphy. The play is directed by Martin Dunleavy.

The play is being staged in the Crossroads Community Centre, Cong (F31PY97) on Friday and Saturday, March 21 and 22. Doors open at 7pm and curtain is up at 8pm sharp. Tickets are €15 and are available at the door on the night. No reserved seating.
