Woman (80s) critical after being struck by car in Mayo
The elderly pedestrian is in a critical condition
A female pedestrian in 80s is in a critical condition after she was hit by a car in Mayo.
The incident happened at Glebe Street in Ballinrobe at around 4.20pm yesterday The woman was brought to Mayo University Hospital in Castlebar for treatment for serious injuries. She remains in a critical condition.
No other injuries were reported.
The road remains closed with diversions in place.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
Those who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage and were travelling in the area between 3.50pm and 4.50pm are asked to make this available to gardaí.
