West Mayo water supply returning to customers

Water supply is returning to customers in Westport after Uisce Éireann crews successfully completed repairs to a significant burst on a water main.

Following investigative works earlier today, teams were abled to isolate and repair the affected section, allowing supply to be restored to a number of impacted customers along the Ballinrobe Road. Water and water pressure should return to all customers over the course of this evening and tonight.

It typically takes three to four hours for normal supply to be fully restored to all areas as the water refills the network, especially for those at the end of the network or on higher ground.

Colette Scahill of Uisce Éireann thanked affected customers for their understanding while these repair works were being carried out.
